Rob and Mary Beth's thank you cards

I truly love what I do for a living now.  Just finished printing Rob and Mary Beths wedding thank you stationary.  It is the same tree and background pattern as was in their invitations.  Can't wait to show them :0)

Bulbs

200bulbs
Here are those bulbs I was talking about.  I know what I'm doing this Saturday during the morning.  hopefully I'll be able to recruit some helpers.  If only I could employ some of these squirrels that are hiding their nuts all over the place.  They could dig little holes and hide my bulbs in my front yard instead.  Not too clumpy- though. And make sure they are spread out please.  I wouldn't want too many daffodils and not enough tulips.  Think they would get all that?

Though October is not cold, the colors are crisp

blackberry at blue bell hill, originally uploaded by Erika Ebert.

Some things don't wait for the cold season to change their color.  Dogwood trees, blackberry bushes, ivy.  When I look out my window it is still all green.  hard to believe that it is October- almost November.  My friend told me the other day that fashion houses are now only making two seasons of clothing- spring and fall.  No more summer and winter lines.  Is this true?  If ever you are feeling upset about the world climate- take a walk in the woods.  It is still so beautiful :)

Gerhard Richter

Stiftung_fensterI can't say enough how inspirational Gerhard Richter has been to me and my art making.  He recently was commissioned and installed the stained glass windows for Cologne Cathedral.  It is stunning.  I love his process and thought pattern.  There is a little video clip of him at the unveiling of the windows and of images at the Museum Ludwig.  .  Click on the image of Richter and the video will come up.  This makes me want to go to europe with pavel and sophia.  walk around and see cathedrals and visit great art museums.  mmmm...maybe this summer.

winter is coming

Img_9480
Everything that is dying now will look like this again in six months.  My favorite season- spring.  I just ordered 200 bulbs.  100 tulips and 100 daffodils.  Today I'm planting 3 lilac bushes and one blue beauty.  I'm gearing up for what I know will make me feel really good when I'm waiting at the end of the cold season for the warmth to come back.  I've been marveling at the obvious migration of monarch butterflies  in my neighborhood and have been thinking a lot about the Wissahickon.  If this area had never been developed- it would still be a forest with streams running through it.  The children here throw their trash on the ground and sometimes- I almost get out of my car to pick it up- but won't because it's too dangerous.  Such a beautiful world we live in...

my inspiration wall- board one

Sitting for hours on end in front of the computer- it's been a month now of work on my site and I certainly need something inspirational to look at.  Thank you to Gracia and Louise from Hammer and Daisy for sharing your wonderful work with me, I love it!

my letterpress site

Pressheader1
I have been working very diligently on making my website for my business.  It's almost all done with the exception of pricing and MAKING MORE WORK to put into my shop.  That will be on the list of to do's this week.  Next up is some Thank you stationary for friends who ordered their invitations from me:
Tyfedirko3Shopbutton
and work on getting some new stuff in the shop for the holidays coming up.  I'm thinking winter card- I'm still thinking about a fall card- what with global warming and all, summer might last another month (in the 90's here in Philadelphia)  and a thank you card- that might not even say thank you anywhere on it.  Funny that my driving force is because I REALLY need to send someone a thank you and I can't bring myself to buy a card- or even make one- if I don't make it on my letterpress.  PLEASE do check out my shop which is more like a store front- and you click on the button and that takes you to the place where you can buy my work.  Any and all suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated- I'm still working out some kinks- and will be uploading more photos and even a video of myself working on the press.  Thanks everybody!

tea party

tea party, originally uploaded by Erika Ebert.

This weekend was the perfect tea party weather.  Sophia was busy all afternoon on Saturday serving her dollys tea.  Or "chai" as we call it- as is the Russian translation for tea.  It was so darling hearing her babble on and on about the proper way to drink your tea.
